Mac Bre-Z began her musical career at age 13, rapping at local talent shows in Atlanta’s Zone 3 Mechanicsville. Born Lavaneka Grier, the name - Mac Bre-Z- is a bi-product of her 7th grade Step Team. The Atlanta-born rapping sensation boasts of being a Grady baby. “I love my home town and I want to put Zone 3 on the map. A lot of people may look down on you if you’re not born in big society section but we’re proud of who we are and where we were raised." Managed by the new production team of Hitt Afta Hitt Production and Dee Money Records, Mac Bre-Z says she plans on changing the rap game and representing for the ladies “especially my DSGG!" The Southwest Dekalb High School sophomore admires the styles and voices of R&B legendary divas Eve, Trina and Khia. Although she worships Nelly and is devoted to fine-tuning her craft of rapping, she listens to all types of music, mainly R&B, rap and Gospel. The honey-toned rapping princess lists R-Kelly, B2K, Beyonce, Amanda Perez, Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin and family as her favorite musical artist. Mac Bre-Z’s goal is not only to make a mark in rapping but acting as well. “I want to be successful in this rap business and also have my own clothing line. That’s all after completing high school .” Mac Bre-Z also plans to pursue a college degree in music and business. Unpredictably classy, laid back and terribly outspoken, this new diva not only raps but writes her own materials. “I express myself in my writing. I’m not afraid to speak my mind and I like to get crunk – very crunk!" Mac Bre-Z excels at rapping and most of her songs depict life through the eyes of a young adult. Her music, she says, speaks to the 14 and up crowd. “Girls rapping are a big thing right now,” Mac Bre-Z expresses. “But I want to be the first real female representing the South as it should be represented." Mac Bre-Z has the looks. She has the style. And she certainly has the gift to take her to greater heights in the rap industry. The South will rise again and it will start with the artistic creativity of the lovely lyricist known as Mac Bre-Z. |
